The District Deputy’s Minute
Rt. Wor. Richard J. Duhaine

February 2003

I am honored and excited to have been chosen as the Grand Master's Representative to the NEW 17th Masonic District.

It may take some time to get used to the new districts numbering system, but I think, in the end, you will find that it will be well worth its troubles.

Among the District changes comes the new Masonic Forum name . . . "The 17th Lodge of Instruction" These changes can only make our Proud Fraternity stronger.

We welcome the Paul Dean Lodge of Easton as our ninth lodge into the 17th District. We have a long history with Paul Dean Lodge and it is good news to have them become a part of our masonic district again.

I am very excited to report that the Edaville Railroad Project is back on our drawing board. I have had many inquiries of interest concerning this ongoing project from both this District and also from the 18th District.

In April look for notice of a Spring Clean-up and future building plans. it should come as no surprise to any of you that MY first goal at Edaville this year will be the building of the Peacedale Fire Station.

When you see Rt. Wor. James C. Holmes, Wor. Robert Balcom, Wor Richard Cusick, and Wor. John Detrick be sure to thank these men for the two full years of dedicated service to enhancing and furthering the Brockton 29th District.

That special chemistry that we shared as the Brockton 29th will live on as we engage our new 17th Masonic District and adjust to all the changes that go along with it.

I am proud to be a part of my District and look forward to working with all of you and hope that I can count on your continued support and friendship.
